University of Cumbria

Interactive Workshop on Food and Currency

Impact has worked closely with the University of Cumbria over the last 4 years to support its efforts to develop the university's campus at Ambleside and its capacity in the field of sustainable enterprise.

The centre for leadership and sustainability opens soon in Ambleside under the direction of Professor Jem Bendell.

In the meantime we are collaborating with the university on this short conference of sustainable future. We will be asking questions including "how can businesses small and large be part of the process of creating sustainable communities".

The event features keynote speakers and interactive workshops to discuss climate change, local food production and the development of alternative currencies.

The event will explore and develop themes of sustainability in the face of challenging global climate and food trends. We will examine issues from a local point of view and consider Thomas H. Greco’s revolutionary ideas for alternative local currencies.

Everyone is welcome to attend this event. Especially those involved in community projects in the Ambleside area. Signed copies of Thomas H. Greco’s latest book ‘The End of Money and The Future of Civilisation’ will be available to purchase at the event..
